When David met Araunah and offered to buy the threshing floor, Araunah offered the property and every thing needed for burnt offerings as a gift to David. But David replied, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing” (2 Sam. 24:24).
